Our Wheely Big Journey

Hello, we are Our Wheely Big Journey, a family with a difference. With a little bit of determination, some craziness and a sprinkle of luck we want to show the world that disability does not mean the end of a happy, fun fulfilled life. With a mam (me Sharon) who doesnt know when to stop, a dad (Denis) aka the masterbuilder, Sophie, a daughter, sister and teenager and Noah the main man with the wheels. Our only limitation is our imagination.

Sometimes when I’m down, I remember back to the time a couple of weeks ago when I took a picture of my son with a spray painted penis in the background!
.
Good times! .
#ourwheelybigjourney #familylikeanyother #bestparentsever #lookatthedetails #spraypaintart #cantbreathe #mynoseisblocked #madrid #bestpictureever I was graciously #gifted a #wristpocket from @dustrockfreedom last week, and I’ve been trying it out over the last couple of days.
.
And you know what, I’ve been mightily impressed.
.
I’ve been finding it really handy when I’m out for my walks and also one of the days I was bringing Noah into the local grocery shop as I didn’t have the handbag hanging off my neck as well as trying to put him into his chair!
.
They retail at €30 and Susan (the owner and founder) has given me a discount code “wheelybigjourney” to be put in at the checkout if you’re interested.
.
There’s loads of different styles to choose from and it’s a Irish company aswell which is a win win.
.
Now, if it could just do the exercise for me aswell it would be brilliant! .

.
No but seriously that small pillow we bought that I can put between my head and yours so that you don’t breathe on my face is a marriage saver!
.
Happy Valentines Day ❤️
.
#ourwheelybigjourney #familylikeanyother #valentinesday2018 #itmustbelove #marriedlife #weloveeachotherreally THE WINNER IS @klairbee CONGRATS please DM your address x
Simply because I’ve been having such a laugh with you all with the #washyourface challenge, I wanted to do a by insta standards a really small giveaway.
.
Now whilst getting into the routine hasn’t been easy, I’m starting to notice a good few positive changes in my skin, especially when putting on makeup! (If the breakouts would just stop now I’d be really happy).
.
So, anyways here’s what you gotta do to enter.

1. Wash your face
2. Tag someone who should be washing their face
And
3. Give us a ol follow.
.
(For transparency I bought everything myself) .
#ourwheelybigjourney #familylikeanyother #ifyourenotinyoucantwin #skinnerdwannabe😂 #lookatourfaces Valentines might be tomorrow, but the love between these two needs no explanation.
.
Especially when Dad puts him on a hoverkart that gives his Mam a heart attack!

.
Of course I’m going to change it up and do facts about all of our family, because 20 is a big number of facts 😂😂
.
1. Denis and I are together since we were 18, got engaged at 22 and married at 24.
2.I have completed 2 marathons, Denis completed one whilst pushing Noah.
3.Sophie had hip dysplasia, diagnosed at 9 months spent the next 9 months going from a full body cast into a hip harness, we have never had a baby who crawled.
4.Denis is a qualified pilot, he owned a plane called a microlight (like a kite with wings), id love to be able to buy him another one in years to come (they’re not that expensive).
5.I was about to go to college to be a nurse when I got pregnant with Sophie.
6.We once queued 24hrs overnight for U2 tickets on the streets of cork we were on the front page of the paper.
7.We were told Noah had one of two syndromes, one being Escobar Syndrome and the other was a life limiting syndrome called Bohring Opitz Syndrome, we were incredibly fortunate.
8.The home we’re in is not our forever nome, we will move again!
9.I can play the piano accordion 😂.
10.Our honeymoon was on the biggest cruise ship in the world at the time, it wasn’t even built when we booked it!
11.Denis and I are determined to do some crazy endurance challenge for charity, we just need to figure out what one.
12.We are NOT having any more children.
13.I get the worst hangovers known to man, a lesser person would have to go to hospital.
14.I don’t have many bffs (as Sophie calls them), my family are who I’m closest to.
15.We’ll only be 40 when Sophie is 20 and it scares the bejayaus out of me!
16.We worry constantly how Noah will be able to function as an Independant adult given the state of our infrastructure and services for people with disabilities.
17.I would love to emigrate for the winter months to a warmer climate (who wouldn’t).
18.Ive only ever tried wacky backy , too afraid I’d die if I tried anything else.
19.Id love to make one town in Ireland completely accessible and hope others would follow suit.
20. I hate flying!
